Well Pepp,

for a change, the Beehive appears to be thinking and planning long term.
With the introduction of the new petrol tax, combined with a very badly needed upgrade for commuter railways and the purchase of more Trolley Buses, it will be less and less viable for people to drive their cars to work.
Public Transport is definitely the answer.
I have long thought the large amount of Railways land (...well, that which hasn't been asset stripped..)adjoining each Railway Station should be utilised as a car park.
If people need to drive from home, make it free to park at their nearest Station.
For the Bus companies part, they could have a split fare structure, being cheaper to travel between the hours of 6am 'til 9.15am than the rest of the day.
I still firmly believe there should be a Pedestrian Precinct along Lambton Quay.
It is becoming dangerous now, with more inattentive pedestrians wandering out in front of cars, as was evidenced this week.

C'mon Wellington...! Lets get behind a real decision maker!

Vote Bryan Pepperell for Mayor!!
