Oh, Bryan...
surely not... less Public Space?

No, the total lack of communication between our fair Council (the Mayor's Office) and the New Zealand Government has seen yet many more Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars frittered away.

I refer of course to the By-Pass (Kerry Drive) route past the Carrillion and the National War Memorial.
It seems the originaly designed Park in front of the Memorial will now be built.
How will this occur, given the newly opened 'Kerry Drive' has taken the land the Park was supposed to enjoy - at great expense to the Ratepayer?

Simple! 'Kerry Drive' will now be diverted around the Park, neccessitating the ceasure of the land occupied by the Former Maobil Service Station, VTNZ and Hire Company.
However, roads do not engineer nor seal themselves..oh no...it takes MONEY!!
Yes, YOURS and MINE, to rip up the newly sealed 'Kerry Drive' and divert it some 150 metres North.

How many Council Flats could be rennovated with that money?

How many Council services could have been maintained for the cost to the Ratepayer and Taxpayer?

The waste of resource is vast and abominable.

The best memorial to our current Mayor would be a statue.
I can see it now... Kerry in a Toga, holding a fiddle.
Not only symbolic of Nero but embracing the very thing she has been doing to the Wellington Ratepayer.
